I listen to you
The exciting process we embark on starts with the design of the instrument. We will start with an interview in which you can communicate clearly all your ideas: tell me about your frustrations, what you expect from your new instrument, your professional goals, your personal taste…
I listen to the harmonic proportions
Combining your ideas and my knowledge I will proceed to design the instrument. To do this I use a tool, called a monochord, that the ancient Greeks began to use in their mythical constructions. With this I can control the harmonic proportions of all parts of the instrument, to make it more sonorous. This system, used by the luthiers of the golden age, allows me to create new models or to interpret existing models better.
I listen to the wood
Once the design is finished, the physical construction begins. After choosing the wood together, I start shaping the instrument by listening to the material itself to achieve the most suitable curvature for each model.
